Storage buildings with yellow safety bollards at Crazy Ray's

Family Owned for Generations

Our Story

Giving people refuge in stressful times — the Crazy Ray’s way.

How It Started

Storage Made Simple Since Day One

Crazy Ray’s Self Storage was founded nearly twenty years ago with the purpose of giving people refuge in stressful times. We make things simple, from our online rentals to our U-Haul moving truck rentals. We offer 24/7 access, outdoor RV storage, and a variety of self-storage unit options.

We’ve been family owned for generations and give our facilities our full attention — but that doesn’t mean we haven’t kept ourselves updated. Our facility is clean and renovated!

Who Is Crazy Ray?

Before opening Athens’ best self-storage facility, Ray Teaster began his career selling mobile homes and proved to be one of the best salesmen in the area. He worked hard for his family — his lovely wife and four daughters — and that drove him further than his competition.

Ray had built quite a life for himself when he entered retirement. However, anyone who knew Ray would know that retirement wasn’t really an option. Ray had been sitting on the land our facility is built on for a long time, and one day he decided to make it the self-storage oasis that it is today.
